Jose Ramos—the man long considered the main suspect in the Etan Patz disappearance case—was released from prison briefly Wednesday, then immediately taken into custody for providing an outdated license. Under Megan’s Law, Ramos is required to provide police with an address of where he will be staying. The one he offered, although a real address, hasn’t been occupied by anyone he knows for years. Focus shifted from Ramos in May when Pedro Hernandez—who worked at a convenience store near where the 6-year-old Patz disappeared in 1979—confessed to killing him.
