Private Chelsea Manning, who was convicted of leaking U.S. Secrets to WikiLeaks, will begin receiving treatment for her gender-identity condition from the U.S. military. Manning, who was diagnosed with gender dysphoria (being a woman in a man's body), had been put up for a transfer by the military to the U.S. prison system, but that was rejected by the U.S. Bureau of Prisons. The military had said they lacked the expertise to treat Manning.
