Rebels Pinned by ISIS and Syrian Forces

OVER?

In Aleppo.

The key Syrian city of Aleppo has been encircled by government troops and ISIS militants in an attempt to take the city from rebels and the Western-backed Free Syrian Army. The rebels are preparing themselves for a starvation-inducing siege like that at Homs, which they lost earlier this year. “We’re about to lose Aleppo and no one cares,” Hussam Almarie, an FSA spokesman, told The Wall Street Journal. “We won’t be able to recover the revolution if this happens. And we’ll lose the moderates in Syria.” ISIS likely hopes that a victory against the FSA would be a recruiting bonanza.
