Social media has blasted Disney’s upcoming live-action film Peter Pan & Wendy after the film’s trailer dropped on Tuesday.

At one point in the trailer, Peter Pan’s gang of Lost Boys is introduced as not being all boys.

“But you’re not all boys,” Wendy, portrayed in the film by Ever Anderson, says, according to the trailer.

“So!?!” one of the girls in the gang responds.

Characters in the 2023 film, familiar to many from Disney’s 1953 classic Peter Pan and inspired by the works of Scottish novelist J.M. Barrie, will be played by a far more diverse cast than previous iterations of the story.

Many users across social media are not welcoming the changes.

“They made Tinkerbell Black, Peter Pan Brown, and Wendy ugly,” according to one Twitter user.

“#PeterPanAndWendy will be a Woke nightmare,” another tweeted.
