It turns out that U2 lead singer Bono had more than a “cycling spill.” According to Rolling Stone, Bono has undergone five hours of surgery and had a broken bone repaired with three metal plates and 18 screws. Bono was riding his bike in New York’s Central Park on Sunday when he crashed while trying to avoid another rider. He suffered a facial fracture, three separate fractures of his left shoulder blade, and his left humerus shattered in six places and tore through his skin. It is not yet known how Bono’s recovery will affect the band’s upcoming tour.
