A storm forecast to be the strongest since October 2009 is expected to hit the Pacific Coast region on Wednesday, delivering as much as nine inches of rain in Northern California. Blizzard warnings have been issued for the Lake Tahoe area, where as much as three or four feet of snow could fall. The storm is known as a Pineapple Express, and the rain will eventually stop Friday night. While flash-flood warnings have been issued, the storm will likely be a welcome relief for a region in the middle of a historic drought.
